"Autumn" pendant - sterling, enamel on copper and red CZ stone. Listing HERE

Andy and I are passing time watching "The Secret Life of Pets" today while Dave went to a rattlesnake seminar at the local sporting goods store with his friends. Well, maybe it's just me watching - Andy's sleeping. It's a good thing - as he is getting older he sleeps more and more each day. It used to be a tough job to babysit him all day - it's getting easier.

PS - I added a new little informational thing to my Wood Thrush Studio Blogspot about the flower wafers and four seasons pendants. It always surprises me when I go to post there that it has been so long since I did it last. My last one (before today) was November 2015.

I will probably list the autumn pendant tomorrow and then that will be it for The Seasons.

"Winter" pendant - sterling, enamel on fine silver and faceted white CZ. Listing HERE

Still snowing. I haven't been outside yet. Dave did the outside chores (filled the bird feeders, brought in the garbage cans and got the mail) before he took off with Andy so I didn't need to. Busying myself with baking and jewelry.

"Night Flowers" pendant - sterling, enamel on fine silver and black onyx. Listing HERE.

Still enjoying finding uses for the flower wafers. I like multicolored bits of things on black.

"Summer" pendant - sterling, enamel over copper and gold CZ. Listing HERE.

Such a rainy day today! I stayed in all day. My left foot, which I thought had a heel spur has been perfectly pain free for the first time in 2 months. I have no idea why - makes no sense. Dave conjectured (kidding) that maybe I had so much pain in my foot yesterday because I was breaking the spur off when I was hiking and then it traveled up and lodged in my shoulder in the night. It's all a mystery to me.

Dave just asked me if I want to go with him to take the recycling - good - will get me out of here...

I finished 3 pendants today - and finally figured out the etsy listing site after about 2 hours (maybe it just seemed like 2 hours). They changed things since the last time I listed something - which was nearly 2 months ago (I have been very non-productive lately it seems!) The prices were just not showing up right and I kept doing the same things over and over, with slight differences so I could figure out what was wrong. Finally it turned out that it wasn't me, or what I was doing - there was a temporary glitch in their site and now it's working. So good - and I can get on to other things now.

Here is another pendant I finished today but it is already sold (I hope):
"Summer Song" pendant - sterling, ceramic, enamel on fine silver and peridot.

Now it's time for mindless TV and mindless crochet.

I'm trying to post my LJ stuff at night rather than in the morning like I usually do, in a effort to be on the computer less each day - to be more balanced. The daytime is for working, creating, hiking, being outdoors, being with real live people - the night is for TV and internet.

Candy and I hiked to the Two Mile Run dam today. It was a really beautiful morning - sunny and not cold - not hot either.

This is the dirt road we walked on to get to the trail that goes into the woods. Then we took a wrong turn and walked on a really beautiful trail overlooking a stream far below. I don't regret going the wrong way and getting on that trail at all. Then we got it figured out and backtracked to the correct trail to the dam.

The dam.

Oh - and 2 more photos I took today.

Candy's bracelets - I really like them.

This is a collection of rocks that Candy has picked up on her walks (some were given to her or brought to her by her sons). She added one from our walk today - a small white one.

"Gypsy" pendant - sterling, enamel on copper and tiger-eye bead. Listing HERE

This is another pendant where I made use of a really lovely hand-painted enamel face from my friend Cindy R.

My day: Dave and I took the Kia to Meadville this morning to see what was wrong with the four wheel drive. It needed to be put on a diagnostic computer. The actuator is bad. I have an idea what that is but not a real understanding of it. I think Dave is going to try and get a used part and get it fixed. It would be way too much money to have it fixed at the dealership. We had breakfast in Perkins while we waited. Raining lots today - melting away the snow. Came home and fooled around with more preparation of pages from LJ that I want to someday print off. We went back and picked the car up. I drove the Kia the long way home and took the road through the Geneva Swamp and French Creek valley while Dave stayed back and shopped at Walmart. Came home and did some computer work and then finished this pendant. Dave just came in and asked me if I want to watch the movie, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children with him. I do - so will finish this up...

Last night we watched the movie, Song of the Sea. It's an animated movie by the same people who made The Secret of Kells. I loved it. It even made me cry - which always makes me give a high rating.

"Seeing with the Heart #11" pendant - sterling, enamel over copper and turquoise. Listing HERE

The snow is falling faster and the roads are getting bad. Glad I'm in the house with no place to go.
summersgate: (me heart eyes)
"Rain" pendant - sterling, enamel over fine silver, aqua blue chalcedony and white CZ. Listing HERE

As I was looking through my enamel cabochons a few days ago I came across this one that I had forgotten about - another eye!

"Seeing with the Heart #10" pendant - sterling, enamel on fine silver and nu-gold brass. Listing HERE

This pendant is very similar to the one I wear all the time:
Now that I see them side by side I see how different they are.

Something I have decided to change on etsy is I'm not going to automatically offer a rubber cord with every pendant anymore - some people don't use them anyway. I'm going to start listing the pendants without cords. Plus the cords don't last very long before they start to harden and shorten if you wear them everyday. They aren't a very long lasting kind of thing - that's always been a disappointment to me. If someone wants one or a sterling chain then they can add it to the order.

"From Darkness into Light" pendant - sterling, enamel on copper and black mother of pearl stone. Listing HERE

It always surprises me that at the end of the day I can't readily remember what I did that day - takes effort to remember. But now that I'm thinking of it: Dave and I braved the freezing rain this morning (it wasn't that bad in Dave's truck) and went shopping at Giant Eagle. Got stuff that would be good for us - carrots, avacodos and brussels sprouts. Got some stuff that we will enjoy in the evening too - sharp cheddar cheese, crackers and blackberry wine. On the way driving home I got a call from my niece Laurie that my sister [personal profile] earthmother45 and she would like to facetime with me so when I got home we did that for a while. It was really great to see them! I always assume that stuff like that won't work cause our internet is so slow and limited but facetime must be better than skype is. I barely used up any internet. I figured I may as well use it since when Johnny gets here later it will be all gone anyway. :-) Made lunch of avacodo, brussels sprouts and left over cheese perogies. Stunk up the house with the brussels sprouts. Dave and I both took a nap. Got up and finished this pendant. Dave and I took Andy for a walk down to the creek. It was nearly dark so I didn't take my camera but it really was beautiful. Very misty with fog hanging over the snow. I saw a branch of a elm tree that had little buds on the dark twigs and then there were bright drops of rain hanging from them. I want to remember how that looked - maybe I can make a piece of jewelry that somehow replicates it. Dave was having a hard time controlling Andy (getting him to come back to us) till finally he figured out that he hadn't turned on the e-collar before we left. He did finally come to us and he got the collar turned back on so we could feel safer bringing Andy back up to the house. We need to worry about the highway if Andy won't come and he isn't on a leash. So now here I am listing this and next I'm going to make dinner. Avocado again, left over brussels sprouts and not sure what else. Maybe nothing else - eat light and then later have cheese and crackers...

"Walk in the Snow" pendant - sterling, dendritic quartz and ceramic. Listing HERE

I really like dendritic stones of any kind - quartz or agate or opal. I need to find more... Hmm... Makes me think. I keep saying I want to cut stones *someday*. Maybe this winter it really would be a good time to get out the boxes of stone slabs I have in the basement and DO IT! I bet I have some dendritic stuff in there.

"Growing in the Earth" pendant - sterling, ceramic and peridot. Listing HERE

What started out as a day with plans to drive the grandkids multiple places has dwindled down to absolutely nothing at all. The grandkids all have snow days from school and I canceled lunch with my friend [personal profile] kyana cause for a while this morning it looked like a blizzard out there. Not anymore though - the sun is shining! But it is still very cold. The school has cancelled the holiday concert that Sebastian was going to play in tonight too.

"Sun and Rain" pendant - sterling, sunstone, enamel on copper and ceramic. Listing HERE

And Snow:
Jan and I ended up getting out for a walk - it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day. I especially liked the pattern of the soft bumps of snow at the edge of the road.

"Bleeding Heart" pendant - sterling, ceramic heart and prehnite stone. Listing HERE

More snow! Dave just called to tell me he will be late - traffic is stopped on the hill he is on and many people are giving up, turning around and going back. Winter has descended upon us. Tomorrow we are supposed to have a low of 8F.

"Tree Top Love Song" pendant - sterling, enamel on copper, copper, simulated blue zircon (spinel) and black onyx. Listing HERE

Now onward to knitting and TV time...

Rainbows galore. I'm happy with at least a few of these.

It rained all day. Just good to stay home.
